Japanese artist Emufucka is the first representative of the electro stage of the international festival/conference V-ROX which is taking place on 22-25 of August in Vladivostok who published his exclusive mixtape. His half hour mix won’t leave any trap, dirty-south, crunk and witch lovers indifferent.
Under a great moniker there is a shy guy wearing huge glasses. He worked with Submerse, Quarta330, Coco Bryce, My Dry Wet Mess, Djemba Djemba and Count Bass D; released five successful singles and few mixtapes. He got lots of credit from Japanese and western music media. At the roots of this music there is hip hop but one can see lots of other genres in his powerful music. It’s enough to listen to any of his mixes to understand that he isn’t called a wizard in vein.
Emufucka’s performance will take place on August 24th at the RBMA’s stage (Street Bar). He will share a stage with intellectual electro gurus from Moscow — DZA and Mujuice. Kulakostas who is less popular will join them as well.

The first international music festival/conference “Vladivostok Rox” which will be held in Vladivostok from 22nd to 25th of August will be launched with a party in Novosubirsk. Such bands as “Sansara”, “Aifo”, and “The Just” will take part in a pre-party on the 21st of August at the “Stray dog” karaoke bar. “Sansara” and “Aifo” members are from Ekaterinburg and “The Just” are from Novosibirsk. All of them are V-Rox participants and they will be heading there right after the party finishes.
Sansara (Ekaterinburg, Russia)
Sansara was formed in Ekaterinburg in 1997. A producer of their debut album was Vladimir Shahrin from The Chaif band. Their new album Igla (Needle) was released on the 1st of October of 2012. It’s got 12 tracks and 2 of them are duets with prominent musicians. Discoteka has a voice of Ilya Lagutenko from Mumiy Troll and Oblaka is performed with Sergey Bobunetz from Smislovye Galutsinatsii.
Aifo (Ekaterinburg, Russia)
One of the most prominent and interesting bands of Ekaterinburg, a representative of the modern “conscious” music. The band members mix together different styles from hip hop and funk to trip hop and indi rock and make them into united tracks filled with a load of energy.
The band released their fist EP Stavka Na Chudo (Put On a Miracle) in 2010. It’s made of five studio tracks and one remix. Their debut album called Schastye v Golove (Happiness in One’s Head) was released in June of 2012 and was well accepted by the public.
Currently, they’ve been prepearing a new album which will be released in the Fall of 2013.
The Just (Novosibirsk, Russia)
Music of this band is called indi but it doesn’t mean melancholic guitarrs which hide behind this «indi» tag. Since the kindergarten they’ve been listening the right music like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, Chemical Brothers, Massive Attack, Jethro Tull, Spice Girls. Moreover, their songs have distinguished russian lyrics. Perphaps, The Beatles would create this kind of music if they were born in Siberia of 2050. The Just recorded an album called «Gagarin» in April which was produced in London by Andrew Maury (Ra Ra Riot, Chairlift, Tegan and Sara).

Today, August 1st we introduce you to the schedule of the events at the V-ROX festival. Workshops and discussions will take place on the open air in Admiralskiy Square and “Artetage” museum and gallery. Festival concerts will be held on Sportivnaya Naberezhnaya (Sports Embankment) and Central Square. Electronic stage of Red Bull Music Academy will be located in Street Bar. There will be show cases of the participant’s bands in various night clubs of Vladivostok during four days of the festival. Festival concerts are free of charge so no extra accreditation is required.
