May 13, 2013 at 03:02

Official site of the Festival launches today. V-ROX or Vladivostok Rocks — creative international music conference, created by Russian band Mumiy Troll with the support of Vladivostok city administration. 100 days are left until the beginning of the festival, and from August 22 to August 25 the city will gladly accept all participants and guests of the music conference at the shores of the warm Sea of Japan. News and information about the Festival will be available at vrox.vladivostok3000.ru. Requests on showcase and lecture participations or answers to frequently asked questions regarding the festival organization can also be found at these websites.

During V-ROX, every attendee will have an opportunity to listen to lectures of world’s music industry professionals, not only from Russia but also from Australia, China, Korea, Japan and United States. Topics of the lectures will be questions and concerns of today’s music industry: production, touring, management, design, video art, and media in modern music and many others. Besides the lectures, there will be performances of known bands from the Asian-Pacific Region, and Mumiy Troll will present their new album.

Ilya Lagutenko, leader of Mumiy Troll, founder and curator of Vladivostok Rocks: “Vladivostok Rocks must show to Asian, Australian and North American market, young Russian music and creative ambitions of the new generation. I am 100% absolutely and truly convinced that we have enough artist in any genre — indie-rock, electronic, whatever — whose talents and quality are equally comparative to their international colleagues, and that they could absolutely and adequately feel themselves in direct competition with international artists”.
